The Sandman DVD was finally released last week. After a hiccup with our old DVD player refusing to open the drawer, we started watching last night; Disc 1 is now finished. I can see I'm going to have to re-read the series - if I can liberate it from Kindle (unless Kobo has it).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
Really really wonderful and the best TMNT movie I have seen. (Note I have liked many of the previous ones a lot).
The animation style is wonderful, capturing the feel of a hand drawn and yet neon graphic novel. Great NYC soundtrack with funk, rap and hip-hop - and an adorable portrait of four teenage lads who happen to be Mutant turtles.
Really liked the storyline which is fun, wholesome and yet a bit grungy.

The trailer for the anticipated newest Grand Theft Auto just dropped and it is absolutely amazing. A Bonnie-Clyde and Miami Vice mashup.

So the little one found this Anime on YouTube then feel asleep and I have been watching it ever since all night.

Luckily this is after Black Friday, so I escaped the additional temptation of purchasing The Troubleshooters RPG which seems to fit with these "Totally Spies" (Alex black, Sam ginger, Clover blonde).

We finished our watch through of the new series of Frasier on Paramount+. I have to say I haven't laugh out loud to a modern comedy in a long time. It's funny, charming, and nostalgic, whilst it moves forward with the times. Kelsey Grammer, Nicholas Lyndhurst, and the supporting cast are great.

It was nice to see Roz and Lilith back for an episode each. I hope we see Niles and Daphne come back in season two. There was also a nice tribute paid to Martin and the bar they frequent throughout the series is called Mahoney's, named after John Mahoney.

Some shows just aren't meant to be blitzed. They are tasty little fillers, canapes or nibbles.
Ah, Brooklyn 99.. I hear you..

We watched The Dial of Destiny yesterday evening. The film was pretty much Indiana Jones by numbers and I felt it was okay as a film, but it was still enjoyable. I just found the conclusion to be a little anti-climatic.

My criticisms are that the film was pretty much a series of chases over a McGuffin - the dial. A lot of the characters were introduced and needlessly killed off without a thought to make the villain look bad. We know he was a Nazi so we know he's a bad guy. The part about continental shift was just pointless, as the dial would always take them to Archimedes no matter what.

Slow Horses (S3E4) continues to deserve a chef's kiss. Brilliantly done, and hopefully Apple will continue making the series. I suspect that it would be a huge hit if the BBC could get it on.

The Family Man (AppleTV+) is a fun Mark Wahlberg vehicle where he's a retired hitman whose family don't know about his history. Silly, fun, well acted and strangely uplifting family road trip movie put in a blender with a thriller.

One Piece on Netflix. Piratey shenanigans in which the main characters tend to have a single superpower each, that of the protagonist being that he is essentially made of rubber thanks to an encounter with a demonic fruit.

I haven't read the manga so I have no idea how accurate it is, but for sheer exuberance it's hard to beat. I'm about halfway through and enjoying it a lot.

My daughters used to love that. Good times.

Rebel Moon Part One comes to Netflix on Friday. It's based on a Star Wars script Snyder wrote for Disney but was later rejected. The reviews say it's bad, which means the likelihood is it will actually be good.

I see that's got Craig Fairbrass as the chef - does he make novel use of a pizza cutter perchance? Or express robust opinions on the subject of cheese?

I've just seen his first appearance... Chef Zeff has a peg leg, an extremely improbable moustache, and strong views on [a] whether waiters are allowed to cook (no) and [b ] getting paid (emphatically yes).

We watched the first two episodes of the new Quantum Leap and we're thoroughly enjoyed it. I like the fact it's a continuation of the original series rather than a reboot.

Circumstances forced me into a free trial of Amazon Prime, so I have a month of their content available to me. What's good to watch on Prime?

(I've already seen The Expanse and Reacher is on my list as I enjoyed the first few books.)
