Lewis Collins was being touted as a potential James Bond around the time of this film and some considered this to be a feature length audition for the role (a lot of Bond staff were involved as well). Cubby Broccoli thought Lewis was too aggressive though so it never happened.

You can see in the early scenes with Judy Davis he's really giving it some Bond. Wasn't producer Euan Lloyd a protege of Broccoli's?

I think Collins would have made a good Bond. He's got the physicality and he was a decent actor, much underrated I'd say. He had decent comic timing too as The Cuckoo Waltz and his guest role in Robin of Sherwood showed. Although...from what Collins himself said he wanted to try a more serious interpretation after Roger Moore's drollery. Ahead of his time really?

Prey 2022.
I am late to the party but I just watched this on D+ and really enjoyed it. Just perfect action movie at one hour 49 minutes and an endearing cast and lots of suspense and gore. 8/10

So I just finished Season 2 of Wednesday (Netflix) and it was very enjoyable. There's nothing that will surprise you if you watched the previous season, and the story spins steadily out of control with elements of the previous season impacting the ongoing plot. It remains sharp, acerbic and still manages to surprise with the twists that come out. I'm glad it's been renewed for another season.

Yes, I can literally reuse @Dom review... and it's not a bad thing that I can. Plot holes? Massive. Failure to actually solve the murders -tick- and attempted murders -tick- but that's really just a side show to the real fun!

Riot Women, BBC, watch it now!!

Seriously..

Anyone seen King & Conqueror on BBC? It should be good and yet the reviews don't seem that great.

A little behind the curve but I watched UNTAMED over on Netflix this weekend. Eric Bana as an investigator at Yosemite National Park. Beautiful scenery (really reinforcing my wish to go there at some point) with a reasonable story. I really like Bana's character but the plot twists were a little obvious if I'm being honest. Still, worth a watch I think - if only for the scenery.

Yes. It's fun. Worth a watch.

Historians have been quibbling about everything from historical events to the drab colour of everyone's clothing to the Normans having moustaches. And there is colourblind casting for some of the minor characters which has no doubt caused storms in teacups. But if you view it the same way you'd view I Claudius or HBO's Rome, or that stylish Mary Queen of Scots movie where Adrian Lester was the ambassador, then you'll be fine.

They filmed a lot of it in Iceland, so there are lots of actors mounted on Icelandic horses (small, pony type horse), and black volcanic sands on the beaches of 'Northumbria' and 'France'. The ponies have a weird 'scurrying' gait (they're pacers), which makes some of the travel scenes look less dignified than if they were riding regular horses. If you are less interested in geology and horses than I am, you may find those aspects less entertaining. Or simply not notice them.
