[generic] What are you backing?

Sorry to say it but I don't really like the direction Free League has gone as a company. Support for some of their existing games is minimal or non-existent and now here comes another IP-based kickstarter.

Also, 'The Walking Dead Universe AMC Roleplaying Game'?

It is actually just "The Walking Dead Universe" role playing game. The "AMC" part is some guerilla marketing on the logo by AMC Networks who have the IP rights to the RPG further licensed to Free League.

And already over 2000 backers hours from launch.

September 1939: the commander of the Admiral Graf Spee receives the order to sink as many British freight ships as possible in the South Atlantic. The objective is to intercept the ships crossing the Atlantic and prevent supplies from reaching the UK and other destinations. The plan seems to work in the first months: within a few weeks, the Admiral Graf Spee sinks 9 freight ships and sends almost 50,000 gross register tons to the seabed. The gigantic loss put the army command in London Whitehall under pressure. In order to protect their freighters in the best possible way, the Admiralty had no choice but to reinforce the English fleet in the South Atlantic by sending three cruisers in what is known as The Battle of River Plate. €23

Swords and Wizardry is the bomb! Matt Finch is an ace, dude. Even though I've had at least three editions over the best part of a decade, the new one looks like a nice clean layout, with art that strangely reminds me of Moldvay Red Book (OMG, I'm showing my age there).

So, of course, I'm fully in!

Besides, it was serendipity when I went to check out... newt-backs-swords&wizardry.png

There isn’t any information in how the books work, as far as I can see? Are they just CYOA or are there some other mechanisms like with Fighting Fantasy etc?
From their website:
The answer is YES and NO. We have chosen the classic gamebook format, where there is no dice rolling, nor characters with special abilities; but we have included some simple mechanics in certain volumes in order to make them more entertaining. Some of these are: puzzles you can only resolve by investigating different sections.
