My Mum makes extensive use of the Borrowbox audibooks feature, although she complains about the amout of choice (or lack of it). Not used it myself but I do find the selection of e-books quite poor.

I find the magazines great, saved a fortune. I read Amateur Photographer, New Scientist and Auto Express.. with occasional dips into Radio Times and BBC History.

My approach with both books and audio is to use it as a mystery box.
I don't go in with a preset idea, I browse and am surprised.

Oh, except when I want to buy something, I quickly check Borrowbox and Gutenberg.

It's really worth noting that you can download audio books as mp3 to listen on any devices.

I still haven't got round to checking out the magazine selection, but that does seem quite wide.

I've actually been rather disappointed with Cambridgeshire's selection of books and audiobooks. Most SFF is YA, and if it's a series, there's gaps. It's also horribly padded out with comics and graphic novels - which I really wish I could exclude from the search results.

Oh since I like graphic novels (which I definitely don't regard as padding) I am quite happy. But yes, it's a library... they don't have everything all the time.
