[listening] Audio books and dramas

I've also indulged in some James Bond radio plays (from Radio 4 with Toby Stephens as Bond):

Goldfinger, Dr. No, Diamonds are Forever, Thunderball, Moonraker, Live and Let Die, and The Man with the Golden Gun.
.
Toby Stephens makes a good Bond (he was the baddie - Rupert Graves - in Die Another Day wasn’t he?) but - by heavens - the original books haven’t aged well, have they?

He was (and a great Captain Flint in Black Sails). You're right though. The Fleming novels are certainly "of their time" (and, by that, I mean hard to read sometimes!)

I just got back to podcasts.
Found The Whisperer in Darkness on TuneIn and streamed it to my Sonos.
What an excellent transposition to England of the original tale, blending in a well known 80s UFO story in Rendlesham Forest, and linking back to the previous Charles Dexter Ward and foreshadowing the coming Shadows over Innsmouth.
All Mythos tales tend to intertwine and also recreate and reimagine, and the BBC are doing this very well here, weaving the very concept of an investigate podcast into the actual tale.
This is 10/10, highly recommended, and you will be as unsure at the end as the beginning, but a lot more creeped out..
Oh and start with Series 1!
It's on BBC sounds..

I loved these. Make sure you listen to the whole track as well - occasionally there's a little extra thrown in at the end...

If you are an Audible Member. They are doing free books with their Plus Catalogue.

Just downloaded the Alan Dean Foster Alien’s books along with other Alien Stories. A decent selection available for free. Will keep me entertained between credits.
